TForce Energy Services – Gas and Oil (Rig Moving)  6-2014 present

HSE Director – Responsible for thecontinuous HSE improvement efforts for the company. In my time with the company, I was responsible for the reduction in TRIR from 5.56 to 1.40, Implemented a complete change to the Behavior Based Observation system, Employee Safety Committees and led the path in reducing incidents accross the board. Initially hired as the Northern Division Safety Director, I was given the lead position within a month of hiring to ensure consistency and to completely re-work the HSE Program. Responsible for a 15 person department and associated budget.

 

Trinidad Drilling – Gas and Oil (Drilling)  5-2012 to 6-2014

HSE Manager – Responsible for the HSE efforts for the Northern Division. Primary lead for the reduction of Total Recordable Incidents, Behavior Based and Process Based Safety Requirements, Industrial Accident Investigations, Regulatory Compliance, Training, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Security. Safety Manager of Regional drilling assets over a wide geographically diverse area. Responsible for a 17 person HSE Department including a $7M budget.

 

Noble Energy Inc. – Gas and Oil (Operator)  6-2010 to 5-2012

Global EHS Coordinator- Responsible for Initiatives and EHS Analytics support to the field for all data analysis on incidents, internal and contractor  investigations, TRIR calculations, Global, Regional and Local initiatives. Provides support on field functions to Marketing, Legal, EHS, Land and Permitting.

 

Safety Specialist/Advisor (Noble Energy Inc.) for North American Drilling. Managing contracted audits, field compliance with applicable Regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, BLM, MMS/BOEMRE) for onshore leases. Responsible for the EHS program including monitoring of contractor services and reduction of TRIR activities. Support efforts for Offshore International and GOM as required.

 

Ensign United States Drilling Company – Oil and Gas Industry (Drilling) 2-2007 to 5-2010

US Field Safety Manager for a North American Drilling contractor with over $4B in Drilling assets. Responsible for the continued success of reduced incidents from the Driving to Zero Safety Culture, Regulatory compliance and Platform audits and training. Currently the US Safety Manager for 53 Drilling sites with over 2000 site personnel. Oversees 8Area Safety Managers and On-site Safety Coaches throughout the Unites States.

 

W2Services  - Safety Speciality and Consulting Contractor 2-2004 to 2-2007

Executive VP, responsible for the Drilling division. Responsible for the training and direction of 9 subordinate Safety Engineers and Coordinators throughout the Division. Oversees the tactical strategy of the department supporting Safety Consulting for Offshore (CA) and Onshore (US) projects and clients. 

 

Lafarge Western US – Lafarge Construction Materials – Heavy Industrial – DOT 10-2001 to 2-2004

Regional Safety Manager responsible for the Safety of employees and assets of 7 Ready Mix divisions (5 states/41 sites/700 employees) through the effective use of health and safety management systems. Ensures the successful implementation and evaluation of safety and heath processes consistent with Lafarge priorities and policies and regulatory compliance. Assures management training, risk management processes and divisional audits are conducted and provides support and expertise in safety and health within the Management team. Represents the Regional Ready Mix and Aggregate divisions in various industry groups for Health and Safety legislative and regulatory influences.

 

Level(3) Communications – Telecommunications 3-1999 to 10-2001

US Director of Safety and Environmental, responsible for the development and implementation of all Safety policies and processes in order to ensure the safety of employees and data transport assets in a startup company that was working to install and maintain telecommunications equipment at 350 sites in 26 US States and 11 Countries for a $4B Project. I consistently oversaw the Safety for over 5000 employees and 30,000 contractors, Fleet Vehicle DOT policies, HAZCOM, Nation-wide Trenching and Excavations and Building Site safety and additionally, had responsibilities for the Safety of the Transport assets through the Cable Protection Bureau Call Center of 50 personnel. Member of the Telecom Claims Manager Association.

 

Peter Kiewit and Son’s Construction Company/Kiewit Network Services – Safety Training Manager 5-1995 to 3-1999

Responsible for the development and implementation of a nation-wide program on Construction Safety for a large construction company working to install Tier III Fiber Optic telecommunications equipment. Over 30,000 contractors were required to be trained and qualified in all aspects of Safety, Railroad Operations, Safe Vehicle and Equipment Procedures, HAZWOPER, HAZCOM and Critical (Emergency) Actions. This effort required the use of Training Contractors, development and use of a comprehensive database, Contractor Management software and a reporting structure to the Construction Division Management team, Association of Railway Engineering, Federal Railroad Administration, State DOT’s and Property Owners.

 

US Government – Manager of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Training/Safety and Health – Industrial 10-1974 to 5-1995

Senior US Government employee responsible for the successful training of business entities preparing to operate outside US territories to recover from either Natural Disasters or negative conditions resulting in combat actions. Each business unit was required to attend and pass this maritime training approximately every two years requiring my unit to attend to over 100 Business Units per year. Risk Assessment, Threat Containment, Casualty Control including Nuclear, Biological and Chemical exposures, Equipment Damage Control, Data Management, Crisis Communications, Personnel Safety and Recovery Response procedures were included in this training.
